ABC’s freshman comedy Cristela has been picked up for a full season, EW has confirmed. The network ordered the back nine episodes, bringing the season to a full 22 episodes.

The comedy, which stars Cristela Alonzo as a law school graduate straddling the line between her professional life and her family’s Mexican-American heritage, debuted in October to 6.57 million and a 1.3 in the 18-49 demographic, building on its Last Man Standing lead in. Its most recent episode drew 5.19 million viewers.

It’s great news in an otherwise bleak fall season. ABC has already canceled two of its other freshman comedies, Manhattan Love Story and Selfie. Fellow freshman series Black-ish, How to Get Away with Murder and Forever were previously given full season orders. Check out which other shows have been canceled or renewed here.

Cristela airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
