With only a few weeks of shows left, Stephen Colbert begrudgingly invited one final “liberal lion” guest onto his show for an interview: Jon Stewart.

Host of the liberal elitist The Daily Show and executive producer of the Emmy-winning  The Colbert Report, Jon Stewart traveled all the way from 11:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. last night to visit his former employee.

Stewart appeared on the Report to discuss his movie Rosewater, which Stewart already employed another Daily Show correspondent to promote. But before discussing his film, Stewart paused to question how sustainable Colbert’s self-aggrandizing interviews could be.

Colbert’s response? “Twelve more shows, Jon.”

Any fears Stewart may have had that Colbert would nail him with some behind-the-scenes secrets were quickly abated, as the interview turned into a love fest between the former co-workers. Though Colbert does think Stewart may be too ambitious with his attempts to do more than just host The Daily Show.

While it wouldn’t be surprising to see Stewart pop up at least once more before Colbert’s tenure on the Report ends, at the very least fans have one final interview by which to remember the duo’s amazing chemistry.
