People named Chris Hemsworth this year’s Sexiest Man Alive—but is he the right Chris for the job?

Hemsworth is one of many alluring actors who share the same name. There’s also Into the Woods‘ Chris Pine, Captain America‘s Chris Evans, and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt (who’s currently on the cover of GQ‘s Men of the Year issue).

Of course, there are also many other famous (and attractive) men named Chris—Chris Messina, Chris Rock, Chris Tucker—but Hemsworth, Pine, Evans, and Pratt are the ones you’re most likely to confuse for one another. For one, they all look great in scruffy facial hair. And they’re all white. And they’ve all starred in big-budget geek-bait franchises.

But they do have some differences from one another. Here’s what makes each Chris the right—and wrong—choice for Sexiest Man Alive.

Chris Hemsworth

Pro: That accent. That hair. Those eyes. Also, he has three children and has proven to be quite fond of Baby Bjorns. Who doesn’t love a sexy dad?

Con: Most people know Hemsworth as Thor, but his last Thor movie came out in 2013. He actually hasn’t been in any movies this year, which makes him a surprising choice for 2014’s Sexiest Man Alive.

Chris Pine

Pro: He’s in the upcoming movie Into the Woods as Prince Charming—a fitting role for the blue-eyed beauty.

Con: Think about it: What do you really know about Pine? He’s never had a viral moment that blew up the internet, so we don’t really have a reason to fawn over him other than his good looks. This makes him come off as a little more boring than his fellow Chrises.

Chris Evans

Pro: Evans is Captain America, and he’s also an extremely talented actor: His performance in this year’s Snowpiercer was hailed as one of the strongest parts of an already strong film.

Con: Like Pine, Evans keeps to himself—which is totally understandable. But personality is part of what makes the Sexiest Man Alive the Sexiest Man Alive, and Evans just hasn’t done much outside of films to show people what he’s like when he’s not on the big screen.

Chris Pratt

Pro: Audiences first met Pratt as a chubby goofball on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, but this year he proved that he can also be a muscular goofball by starring in Guardians of the Galaxy. The Marvel film was a huge hit and made Pratt’s name a household one—but it didn’t make him cocky: Pratt continues to be charming and humble in interviews, proving that even movie stars can be the guy next door.

Con: Pratt is handsome and he had a big year, but he just doesn’t have the same undeniable sex appeal as previous Sexiest Men Alive. He’s the guy you want to date, but not necessarily the guy you drool over. (Ed. note: This is debatable.)
