Though The Newsroom covered the story earlier this month, 20th Century Fox is moving forward with its own representation of the Boston Marathon bombing.

EW can confirm that Fox has acquired the rights to Boston Strong, a script from The Fighter‘s Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy based on the book by Casey Sherman and former Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge. Safe House director Daniel Espinosa is attached to direct the project. Variety first reported the news.

Casey Affleck had originally been attached to the film, but according to Variety, he is no longer involved. The film will taking a look at Boston in the wake of the events while following the hunt to apprehend the two men believed to be behind the bombings.
