U2 cancels weeklong 'Tonight Show' gig after Bono injures arm
U2 has pulled out of its weeklong residency on The Tonight Show scheduled to begin on Monday after Bono injured his arm in a bike accident. The front man will need surgery to repair it, the band announced on Sunday.
A statement on U2's website read: "It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time – we're one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding."
It's been a harrowing week for Bono. On Wednesday, a private plane that he was flying on lost a door mid-flight. The plane landed safely in Berlin, where he was headed to perform with U2 at the annual BAMBI Awards on Thursday.
