Julia Roberts, Jack O'Connell in talks to star in 'Monster Money'
George Clooney may be reunited with his on-again, off-again Ocean’s Eleven love in Jodie Foster’s upcoming thriller, Monster Money.
EW can confirm that Julia Roberts and Jack O’Connell are in talks to join the film. O’Connell would play the gunman who takes Clooney’s talk show host Lee Gates hostage while on air. Roberts would star as one of the show’s producers who helps Gates to uncover the secrets behind the situation.
Tri-Star’s Money Monster is directed by Foster and written by Jamie Linden. The film’s story will be told in almost real-time, as Foster likely will have the sense to account for and skip over any bathroom breaks that occur during the hostage crisis.
Money will be the first reunion for Clooney and Roberts since Ocean’s Twelve, as Roberts sat out the third film in Steven Soderbergh’s heist trilogy. Meanwhile, O’Connell can next be seen teaming up with another actress-turned-director, as he stars in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken.
