NBC is bringing back envy-TV classic Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

The series, which lovingly profiled the lavish homes and toys of Hollywood’s elite, is returning in a new form, EW has confirmed. The new version of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous will be hosted by America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon and “will focus heavily on Cannon’s point of view and include fun profiles on ultra-wealthy individuals with vibrant personalities, hobbies and tastes” reports THR. Also, tech moguls will be included this time, not just traditional celebrities.

The original series ran for more than a decade in syndication during the 1980s and ’90s and was hosted by Robin Leach. The format was recently revived for basic cable by NBC’s parent company Comcast’s Style Network (since rebranded Esquire). The concept was also essentially the same concept as MTV’s Cribs. Yet it remains to be seen, with income inequality continuing to rise, whether the format will still hold the same appeal.
