The ghost of Peter Sellers should get second billing in Mortdecai, the upcoming comic romp starring Johnny Depp as a bumbling English art dealer slash secret agent. Based on a trio of 1970s novels by the eccentric Kyril Bonfigliolo—who modeled his daffy antihero after himselfMortdecai evokes the hijinks of the Pink Panther franchise, with a Clouseauvian character, stolen riches, and a man-servant who’s a glutton for punishment.

The first teaser set a whimsical tone, backed with the scene-setting vocals of Shirley Bassey’s “Big Spender.” The new clip reinforces that throwback theme with Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual,” and we get to see Depp’s Charlie Mortdecai dodge danger, get handsy with a “well known nymphomaniac” (Olivia Munn), and be cowed by his gorgeous wife (Gwyneth Paltrow).

It could be fun.

Mortdecai opens in theaters on Jan. 23.
