If you’ve been following comic book news recently, you’re probably aware of the dozen or so teaser posters Marvel has been releasing one at a time over the past few weeks, with little to no contest. Today, the publisher released a video that reveals what they’ve been building to this whole time.

That’s right, it’s the Secret Wars Battleworld. It appears that, like the original Battleworld from the 1984 series, Battleworld will be stitched together exclusively for this story—except this one consists of various realities/universes, as opposed to disparate hunks of rock. It manages to both make perfect sense and come across as absolutely bananas at the same time—why are we equating stories to nations? Will the nation of Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows be going to war with the republic of The Infinity Gauntlet? Will the new Secret Wars just end up being a giant game of Risk? If so, can I play? I’m pretty good at Risk.

Even more intriguing is the “All-New” that briefly appears over the Marvel logo at the end of the video. Taken in conjunction with yesterday’s final teaser poster that simply read “Everything Ends”—which, in turn, is reminiscent of the “Everything dies,” the oft-repeated theme of Jonathan Hickman’s New Avengers run—and it strongly suggests the Marvel Universe will look completely different after Secret Wars.

The whole thing is definitely taking on a Crisis on Infinite Earths vibe. Will Marvel finally hit the big red reboot button DC is so fond of?
