Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg team up again for 'Daddy's Home'
Paramount Pictures announced today that Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are set to team up in the paternal-rivalry comedy Daddy’s Home.
According to a Paramount press release, Daddy’s Home will center on a tug-of-war style conflict between Ferrell and Wahlberg’s respective characters. Ferrell will play a mild-mannered radio executive who is ready and eager to take on the role of stepdad to his wife’s two kids, but clashes with their freeloader of a real father, played by Wahlberg. The two previously starred together in 2010’s The Other Guys.
Horrible Bosses 2 director Sean Anders is set to direct the film with a script from Entourage writer Brian Burns. Anders, John Morris, Chris Henchy, Adam McKay, and Etan Cohen all contributed to revisions to the script. Red Granite Pictures and Ferrell and McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions are set to produce with Paramount Pictures as the international distributor.
“Will and Mark are the absolute perfect on-screen duo to take on this hilarious project. With Anders at the helm, and our partners Red Granite on-board, we are thrilled this movie is getting underway,” said Adam Goodman, President of Paramount Film Group, in a statement.
The film is set to start shooting later this year.
