EW has confirmed that Patrick Fugit will be starring in Robert Kirkman’s exorcism drama, Outcast.
According to Deadline, Fugit will play Kyle Barnes, the young man at the center of the show who has been perpetually plagued by demonic possession since he was a child. The project is based on Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta’s comic of the same name, which debuted this past summer. Adam Wingard will direct the pilot.
Also joining the cast is Philip Glenister, who will play the zealous Reverend Anderson, and Gabriel Bateman, who will play a young boy who, like Kyle, also seems to be suffering from demonic possessions.
The project is being developed and produced by Fox International Channels, Circle of Confusion, and Cinemax. Kirkman will executive produce the show with Chris Black, David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sharon Tal Yguado of Fox International Channels, and Sue Naegle.
