Recently, a striking video circulated around the Internet showing the street harassment one woman endured during 10 hours of walking around NYC. Funny or Die has responded with a video showing what it’s like to walk around the city as a white man. It’s, well, different.

What happens to this man? He’s asked if he wants to network. He gets offered help getting a job. He gets some high fives. He gets a Starbucks gift card: “Pumpkin spice season, son!” He gets crowned king. The video ends with a note: “100+ instances of verbal street privilege took place with 10 hours. This doesn’t include the countless Bud Light Limes, first bumps, and small business loans that were offered. If you want to help, please do nothing. Leave the patriarchy in place.”

The video is amusing, but also pointed, given that the context of the initial video which ends with this message: “100+ instances of verbal street harassment took place within 10 hours involving people of all backgrounds. This doesn’t include countless winks, whistles, etc. If you want to help, please donate to Hollaback! a non-profit dedicated to ending street harassment.”
