Metallica has roamed as far away as Antarctica, and now it will venture into the deep caverns of late-night TV. The band has signed up as the musical guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson for a full week (Nov. 17 to Nov. 21) in the hour when the Sandman beckons (12:37 a.m. to 1:37 a.m.).

In addition, Ferguson will interview frontman James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassist Robert Trujillo on Nov. 17.

Ferguson is set to depart the show in December, with guest hosts filling in until James Corden takes over in March.
