Aaron Sorkin told Bloomberg Christian Bale is indeed playing Steve Jobs and that he will “crush it.” Last week, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Bale was “beginning negotiations” with Sony to play the Apple co-founder, and a source confirmed to EW that he was indeed in talks. Now Sorkin, who adapted Walter Isaacson’s Jobs biography, appears to be spilling the beans.

“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale,” Sorkin told Bloomberg. Sony had no comment at this time.

Sorkin touted the intensity of the performance required from Bale. “He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined,” Sorkin explained. “There isn’t a scene or frame that he’s not in, and there’s a tremendous amount of language. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he’s going to crush it.”
