John Goodman has some words for Mark Wahlberg in the teaser for their upcoming film The Gambler, and since it’s a red-band teaser, it’s probably evident that the words aren’t exactly pretty. (Get ready for a lot of “f–k yous” to be uttered.)

“The wise man’s life is based around ‘f–k you,'” Goodman counsels. Wahlberg stars in Rupert Wyatt’s remake of the 1974 James Caan movie, as an English professor, who has a taste for, well, gambling. He’s surrounded in the film by some top-notch actors outside of Goodman, including Jessica Lange, Brie Larson, and Michael K. Williams.

Wahlberg explained to Yahoo why he dropped weight and grew out his hair for the movie. “Rupert was a little bit freaked out when he saw me,” he explained. “He said, ‘I don’t really think this [character] is a guy who focuses too much on fitness or nutrition.’ He wanted to me to get as thin as possible, and once I start doing something, I obsess about it. So I just kept losing more and more weight, and ended up going from 197 [pounds] to 137.”

The movie opens in limited release on Dec. 19 before expanding in January.
