Manglehorn, which stars Al Pacino, will be distributed in the U.S. by IFC, EW has confirmed.
The David Gordon Green film played at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals this past year, and stars Pacino as a locksmith. Holly Hunter, Harmony Korine, and Chris Messina also star. The film has received mixed reviews. “This is [Paul] Logan’s first produced screenplay, and its immaturity is written in neon,” the Hollywood Reporter‘s review noted. “But that’s no excuse for Green and actors of the caliber of Pacino and Hunter buying it wholesale.” The Guardian argued that the movie features “the finest performance Pacino has delivered in years.”
Pacino’s other festival film this year, The Humbling, was picked up by Millennium and is primed for an awards play.
