Care Bears

  • TV Show

It looks like Wish Bear has listened to her fans. Netflix is bringing back the Care Bears.

EW can confirm, as originally announced in an interview with CNN Money, Netflix will be reviving the classic Care Bears brand with Care Bears and Cousins. While discussing the company’s slate of children’s programming, chief content officer Ted Sarandos announced Cousins as an addition to several projects already in the works. The first season is being planned for an early 2016 release, according to the interview.

At least by its title, Care Bears and Cousins opens the door to both original bears like Cheer Bear and Grumpy Bear, as well as their cousins, who were other animals stylized in the classic Care Bear look.

The series would be one of several upcoming animated programs Netflix has that represent a revival of beloved children’s franchises, including Popples and The Magic School Bus.

No other information about the show—such as whether a “Binge-Watch Bear” would be added to the cast—was originally provided.
