Just when you thought you saw the last of Jane Fonda’s needy, nagging Viola Fields, there’s a whole new Monster-in-Law coming to Fox.
The network confirmed to EW plans for a half-hour, multi-camera comedy from Warner Bros. Television based on the 2005 film starring Fonda and Jennifer Lopez.
The series is being written by Amy B. Harris (The Carrie Diaries) and John Riggi (30 Rock). Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, who executive produced the original film it’s “loosely inspired by,” will executive produce.
The series will follow “the very fraught world of a happy couple about to learn the joys and horrors of parenthood while managing the most challenging relationship of all — the one between a wife and her husband’s mother.”
