All I want for Christmas is….Bill Murray singing Christmas carols in a TV special. Looks like it’s going to be a very, merry Christmas, indeed.

Murray told Variety that he plans to star in a Christmas special for TV in which he’ll perform classic carols. The actor would re-team with his Lost in Translation director, Sofia Coppola, for the special, which would also have her at the helm.

What’s in store: “It’s not going to be live,” Murray says. “We’re going to do it like a little movie. It won’t have a format, but it’s going to have music. It will have texture. It will have threads through it that are writing. There will be prose.”

Coppola verified to Variety that the special is in progress. “We’re working on a Christmas special,” she said. “Not sure when it will air, but my motivation is to hear him singing my song requests.” (A rep for Coppola did not immediately respond to EW‘s request for comment on the wonderful news.)

What do you want to hear Murray sing? “White Christmas”? “Frosty the Snowman”? “Jingle Bell Rock”?  Whatever he sings, one thing is certain: It’s not going to be a “Silent Night”! (Get it? It’s a pun!)
