'Daily Show' adds Hasan Minhaj and Trevor Noah
Today’s Daily double: The Daily Show is adding two new members to its news team.
Comedy Central announced on Friday that comedian/actor/writer Hasan Minhaj will join as a correspondent in November, while comedian Trevor Noah comes aboard as a contributor the following month. Hasan, who has guest-starred on Arrested Development and Getting On, recently hosted the docu-special Stand Up Planet as well as his own digital series The Truth with Hasan Minhaj. Noah, meanwhile, has hosted his own late night talk show in South Africa, and has appeared on Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show. Last year he headlined the Showtime stand-up special Trevor Noah: African American.
Earlier this year, The Daily Show added Jordan Klepper and Michael Che as correspondents, the latter of which already departed to replace Cecily Strong on Saturday Night Live‘s “Weekend Update” desk. Contributor Larry Wilmore will exit the show at the end of the year to host The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore, which will fill the slot vacated by The Colbert Report.
