Step aside Batfleck, another Batman is reportedly on his way to movie theaters, and this one is plastic. Will Arnett’s Lego Batman from The Lego Movie is getting a spinoff of his own, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with Warner Bros aiming for a 2017 release date. THR reported that The Lego Movie sequel “is being pushed back” and its director, Chris McKay, is now focusing his attentions on Lego Batman, who will once again be voiced by Arnett.
Warner Bros. may want the Lego Batman movie to take the release date of The Lego Movie sequel, which was set for a May 26, 2017 release. Another spin-off titled Ninjago—it’s about ninja Legos, get it?—is set to be released Sept. 23, 2016.
When contacted by EW, Warner Bros. had no comment. We patiently await the Unikitty spinoff.
