Taylor Swift officially joins 'The Voice'

NBC announced Friday that really successful cat lady Taylor Swift is a mentor on this season of The Voice.

Though Swift’s participation in the show had been reported, the network confirmed today that Swift is a “key adviser” during the show’s Knockout Rounds. Swift, according to a press release, counseled contestants on all of the coaches’ teams on “vocal technique, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their personalities and strengths.” One can only hope she also coached them on how to dance like no one is watching and how to make the most out of Tumblr memes. After all, haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.

By the time The Voice reaches the Knockout Rounds, which are set to air Oct. 27, 28 and Nov. 3, Swift’s latest album, 1989, will have arrived. It is due for release Oct. 27.
