'Newsroom' trailer depicts Boston bombing, more legal trouble for ACN

HBO has only teased the third season of The Newsroom in brief glimpses, offering little actual footage so far. But those wondering about the future of Will McAvoy and his team at News Night need wait no longer, as HBO has debuted the first real look at the show’s final season.

In traditional McAvoy confusion, Jeff Daniels’ anchor attempts to pump up his newsroom in the trailer by telling them, “We don’t do good TV. We do the news.” McAvoy has more serious problems to worry about this year, however, than just his contradictory eloquence.

Among the issues that the News Night team will tackle this year are the Boston marathon bombing, the ethics of reporting classified documents, and relationship issues. Because it wouldn’t be The Newsroom without romantic woes.

The Newsroom will make a small time jump at the start of season three, picking up about five months after the end of the second season. Writer and producer Aaron Sorkin has teased that the season will be about the relationship between journalism and the government, which certainly takes center stage during the trailer.

The truncated and final season of The Newsroom debuts on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 9 p.m.
