USA Network renews 'Satisfaction,' cancels 'Rush'
Modern marriages are in and fixer-doctors are out at the USA network.
The network announced Thursday that they will be renewing modern relationship drama Satisfaction with a 10-episode order for season two. Along with the renewal came news of the cancellation of fixer-doctor drama Rush.
Satisfaction follows the modern arrangement of couple Neil Truman (Matt Passmore) and his wife Grace (Stephanie Szostak), who keep their relationship together by having relationships outside of their marriage. Rush followed Dr. William P. Rush, an off-the-books doctor who serves an illicit list of clientele in Los Angeles.
The show’s renewal came in large part to the DVR lift in ratings, averaging 2.21 million viewers when DVR data was added to the live ratings number. According to The Hollywood Reporter, while Rush had similar live ratings to Satisfaction, the DVR ratings was not as substantial and producing Satisfaction was decidedly cheaper, as it is produced under USA’s sister studio, Universal Cable Productions.
