PBS won 11 awards at the 35th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards followed close behind by CBS with 10. Four of PBS’s prizes came from Frontline programs, and two from Independent Lens, including the Oscar-nominated The Invisible War, about sexual assault in the military. The Invisible War won both the Outstanding Investigative Journalism—Long Form and Best Documentary Emmys.

The program that emerged the top winner both for CBS and overall was 60 Minutes, which won five, while 48 Hours received two. CBS News’ coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings also won for live coverage of a a current news story award, which it shared with NBC for its coverage of the same topic.

ABC came in third place for total Emmys, but lagged far behind with only three. NBC, BBC World News, and HBO all picked up two.
