Johnny Depp's 'Mortdecai' will hit theaters early
Johnny Depp’s hunt for gold will start a little early next year. Mortdecai, which stars Depp as an art dealer on the hunt for a painting that’s linked to a bank account filled with Nazi gold, will be released two weeks early, on Jan. 23, 2015, Lionsgate announced on Wednesday. The David Koepp-directed film, which is based on Kyril Bonfiglioli’s The Mortdecai Trilogy novels, will now go up against the Jennifer Lopez-starring The Boy Next Door in theaters.
The studio also announced that The Age of Adaline will be pushed from Jan. 23 to April 24. The romantic drama, which follows the journey of a 29-year-old woman who stops aging after a near-fatal accident, stars Blake Lively, Harrison Ford, Michiel Huisman, Ellen Burstyn, Kathy Baker and Amanda Crew.
