A trailer for the long-gestating Bradley Cooper-Jennifer Lawrence film Serena is finally here, and shows the two actors in their darkest collaboration yet. While Cooper and Lawrence’s David O. Russell movies are rooted in their humor, Serena looks like a flat-out epic drama, complete with falling trees, fire, and blood. The two play a husband and wife running a timber empire in Depression-era North Carolina. Their marital bliss turns sour when Lawrence’s titular character finds out that her husband has a child. Lawrence looks like she is relishing playing the conniving, glamorous Serena, who has drawn Lady Macbeth comparisons and gets to do things like take an axe to a tree and release a hawk off her arm.

The film is directed by Susanne Bier, who won a foreign language film Oscar for In a Better World, and will debut at the BFI London Film Festival, before opening in the U.K. There is still no U.S. release date.
