CBS has given a script commitment to a medical drama from Halle Berry and House executive producer Katie Jacobs, EW has confirmed.

The untitled drama follows an enigmatic surgeon who imprisons himself in a state-of-the-art private hospital on the grounds of a prison.

The project hails from Berry’s 606 Films, which has an overall deal with CBS TV Studios. Larry Kaplow (House, Law & Order: SVU) will write and executive-produce with Berry, Jacobs, and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.

Berry currently stars on CBS’ summer series Extant, which drew roughly 5.8 million viewers in its latest outing. There’s no word yet on whether Extant will be renewed for a second season, but the network moved the season finale a week earlier to Sept. 17 instead of airing it in the middle of premiere week.
