We know his face. We’ve seen him in action. But where did it all begin? How do you become Saul Goodman … and why?

That’s the question that Better Call Saul creators Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan propose in the newest teaser for the Breaking Bad spinoff. According to Gilligan, the spinoff will start “half a decade before” the events of Breaking Bad, back when Goodman was better known as Jimmy McGill (whose voice we’ve heard before).

So what made Jimmy decide to become Saul? We’ll find out when Better Call Saul premieres in February 2015 on AMC.
