It’s both a parent’s worst nightmare and the subject of countless 20/20 exposés: A troubled teen is shipped off to a bootcamp-like reform program and, instead of being rehabilitated, is brutalized. Vincent Grashaw’s grim and gritty directorial debut hits all the familiar Full Metal Jacket beats with a sledgehammer (the barking camp honcho, the inmate who snaps), but it’s never as involving as it should be. The best thing about it is its star, P.J. Boudousqué, who locates a sense of terror and betrayal that the script lacks. (Also on Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, and VOD) B-
