Spike Jonze, Jonah Hill to write one-act play for New York Fashion Week
What do you get when you combine the man behind a touching love story about a guy falling in love with his computer, the star of 22 Jump Street, and fashion? No seriously, someone tell us.
EW has confirmed that Spike Jonze and Jonah Hill have signed up to co-write a one-act play for Opening Ceremony in lieu of the designers’ traditional New York Fashion Week runway show. The details of the plot aren’t released, but Jonze also has plans to direct, while Hill will not appear in the show. Women‘s Wear Daily first reported the news.
Opening Ceremony heads Humberto Leon and Carol Lim have made a name for themselves with eccentric fashion week presentations before. Last year, they installed an entire wall made of chocolate for one presentation and a The Fast and the Furious inspired line in another. Opening Ceremony has also worked with Jonze in the past, releasing looks based on his films Where the Wild Things Are and Her.
The show is scheduled for Sept. 7.
