'Big Bang Theory' cast back in action: Production to restart
They got their money, now it’s back to work. The Big Bang Theory‘s cast is going back to the set after striking new contract deals yesterday.
Studio Warner Bros. put out an ultra-brief statement Tuesday announcing the cast is going back to work tomorrow: “Production on season 8 of The Big Bang Theory will begin Wednesday, August 6, with contract negotiations now having been concluded.”
Yesterday EW confirmed that leads Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco have each made three-year deals with Warner Bros. TV to receive a whopping $1 million per episode, plus a larger cut of the show’s back-end. Co-stars Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar were still in talks as of yesterday, but this statement suggests those deals are finished too. Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch received raises back in September.
