''All the Right Junk in All the Right Places''
Meghan Trainor's body-positive anthem ''All About That Bass'' has become summer's surprise hit
Twenty-year-old Meghan Trainor spent two years writing for other artists (Rascal Flatts, Common Kings) before stepping out in June with her first single, ”All About That Bass.” Since then, the song has shot into the top five on iTunes and the video has more than 5 million YouTube views, thanks to its throwback beat and curve-celebrating lyrics. ”Girls sent me essays about how they hated themselves because of their bodies and the way people were treating them,” the Nantucket, Mass., native tells EW. ”They said they heard my song and said, ‘Forget it, I’m just going to love myself.’ It’s amazing.”
