Sharknadoes might not be good for humankind, but they’re definitely good for ratings: 3.9 million viewers tuned in to Syfy Wednesday night to watch the premiere of Sharknado 2.

The first Sharknado aired in July 2013 and brought in 1.4 million viewers for its premiere, with 570,000 of those watching belonging in the coveted 18-49 age bracket. For Sharknado 2′s premiere, 1.8 million of the 3.9 millions viewers were in the 18-49 demo.

Because of these stellar ratings, Sharknado 2 is now Syfy’s most watched original movie ever. The flick will re-air on Syfy Saturday, August 2 at 7 p.m. ET and Sunday, August 3 at 9 p.m. ET.
