John C. Reilly shows Letterman a seriously old-school 'Guardians' clip
It looks like Marvel’s going to be quoting some old fashioned sci-fi flicks in its latest release.
John C. Reilly plays Corpsman Dey, a law-enforcement official, in the soon-to-be-released Guardians of the Galaxy. And it’s his arrests of the film’s main characters that leads them to assemble into the titular “Guardians” squad. He stopped by the Late Show Monday night to give David Letterman a glimpse at life on the job.
Reilly discussed the difficulties of acting in front of a green screen and keeping up with Glenn Close (who plays Nova Prime) even while filming jet-lagged. Before cutting away, Reilly pointed out that he hadn’t seen the finished product. And given the state of modern special effects, a surprising amount can change between the set and the screen.
“Like I said, I haven’t seen the movie yet.” Reilly added. “I’m still looking forward to it. I mean, I’m in it. I think that was me.”
Okay, so maybe that wasn’t actual footage from the film.
