Carrie Preston is returning to 'The Good Wife'
With True Blood coming to an end, Carrie Preston already has more work lined up. EW has confirmed that Preston will reprise her role as fan favorite Elsbeth Tascioni in the upcoming sixth season of The Good Wife. There’s no word yet on how long Elsbeth will be sticking around, but let’s just hope that this time, she stays away from any and all anti-Semitic bears (or not).
The Good Wife isn’t the only place Preston’s fans will be able to find her. As EW previously reported, the actress is also set to guest star in a season 2 episode of HBO’s Getting On. Preston will play Denya Thorp, a cancer patient staying at the Billy Barnes Extended Care Facility. Let’s just say she’s looking to get out of that place ASAP.
Apart from both of those guest roles, Preston says that she’d love to get a full-time TV gig: “I’m hoping I can get another show. I really love doing TV. I got my fingers crossed that I get a regular gig on another show.”
As for what she wants, the actress is keeping her options open. “Luckily, I don’t get typecast. If anything, I’m not sure people know what my type is,” she told EW with a laugh. “I don’t even know what my type is. When you consider Arlene, Elsbeth on The Good Wife, and Grace on Person of Interest, those three characters couldn’t be more different. I just want a juicy role—if it’s in a half-hour, if it’s in an hour. I would never presume to imagine a role. I couldn’t have dreamt up those three women, and look how great they all are. I just trust and have faith that something fabulous will come along and will be a good fit, and I’ll be able to jump into it.”
