Jenny McCarthy to host her own radio series
As some people—like Rosie O’Donnell—know, after leaving The View, there are always more chances.
In a press release today, SiriusXM announced that former View panelist Jenny McCarthy will now host a live, limited-run, hour-long weekly series on SiriusXM starting on Wednesday July 16. Titled Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy, McCarthy plans to discuss everything from parenting and marriage to dating and sex. Chelsea Handler, Perez Hilton, and McCarthy’s fiancé Donnie Wahlberg are all scheduled to appear.
McCarthy joined The View last year, though her contract was not renewed for this fall. She left the show earlier this month along with Sherri Shepherd, shortly after the retirement of host Barbara Walters. Former The View co-host Rosie O’Donnell will join Whoopi Goldberg, who is the only remaining member from last season, in the fall.
McCarthy made her name as a comedian, actress, and Playboy playmate. She has written books on parenting and hosted her late night talk show, The Jenny McCarthy Show. McCarthy has also been linked to anti-vaccine activism, a position that has been criticized by various media outlets.
On her last appearance on The View, McCarthy promised that her next project would all her to “talk without having to interrupt anyone.” If nothing else, this radio show will fulfill that desire.
“It’s no secret that I love to talk. I’m excited to do it on SiriusXM without having to interrupt anyone or keep things clean,” she said in a statement. “You can bet your sweet ass this show will live up to its title.”
