Chris Colfer NOT leaving 'Glee' says studio
Earlier today, a tweet came from Chris Colfer’s Twitter account. According to the tweet in question, Colfer had been “let go” from the cast of Glee due to “personal issues.” At that time, EW.com wrote a post in which we embedded the tweet from Colfer’s verified account:
Almost immediately, word spread that Colfer’s Twitter account had been hacked. Glee producer 20th Century Fox TV issued this statement: “We’ve been alerted that Chris Colfer’s Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.” A representative for Chris Colfer confirmed the hacking to EW, and also confirmed that Colfer will be back for the final season of Glee.
EW regrets posting the erroneous tweet, and hopes that this pre-holiday internetland media snafu will be explored in the final season of Glee using the power of song, perhaps with Chris Colfer’s Kurt duetting with guest-star Lindsay Lohan in a performance of Ms. Lohan’s underrated electropop ditty “Rumors.”
