Ahh, the Clinton era—what a time to be alive!

National Geographic’s forthcoming miniseries The ’90s: The Last Great Decade? promises to examine important, world-changing topics and events like the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, Desert Storm, the dot-com bubble, and The Rachel. It’s all narrated by Emmy nominee Rob Lowe, who’s got a few awesome ’90s stories of his own.

Chief among them: That time Lowe got on a plane right before filming the pilot for The West Wing and found himself sitting a stone’s throw away from Monica Lewinsky. Did the universe explode? Watch the exclusive clip below to find out.

The ’90s premieres July 6 at 9 p.m. ET on Nat Geo.
