The film adaptation of The 5th Wave is heating up!

In April, Sony Pictures announced it had cast Chloe Grace Moretz as the star of the thriller, which will be directed by J Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed) from a screenplay by Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich). Now two other pivotal roles have been filled: Nick Robinson will be playing Ben Parish, a.k.a. “Zombie,” and Alex Roe will portray Evan Walker.

Based upon the best-selling Rick Yancy novel (which EW gave an ‘A’), The 5th Wave focuses on an alien invasion. (No spoilers here, but it doesn’t go how you might imagine.) Cassie (Moretz), our 16-year-old heroine, is forced to go on the run to try and save her little brother. In the woods, she meets the mysterious Evan (Roe), whom she’ll have to decide if she can trust. Production on the film begins in September.

The 5th Wave is the first in a planned trilogy. The Infinite Sea is due to hit bookshelves on Sept. 14.
