Perhaps you heard that yesterday was the 10th anniversary of The Notebook, a little film men love that helped make stars of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

In honor of Throwback Thursday, let’s take a look back at The Notebook sequel of our hearts: A video where a then-dating-in-real-life Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling won the award for Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards in 2005 and then gave fans a glimpse of the real-life romance behind Allie and Noah’s fictional one, which had arrived in theaters a year prior.

The moment was entertaining while it happened, but in the years since, the most fun part is re-living it through YouTube and noting just how many things about the two-minute-long clip are wonderfully 2005: There’s Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling’s coupledom, of course, as well as the soundtrack (Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved”) and Gosling’s Darfur T-shirt (a serious issue still, but the celebrity cause du jour at the time). And not to mention there’s also audience cutaways to the then-still-It-girl Lindsay Lohan, as well as Hilary Duff.

All that, plus “Please welcome, from Batman Begins, Katie Holmes.”

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling aren’t currently dating.
