The John Green wave continues.

Sarah Polley (Away From Her, Stories We Tell) will write and direct an adaptation of John Green’s award-winning 2005 debut novel Looking for Alaska.

Green confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, “So excited to announce that the brilliant filmmaker Sarah Polley will be writing and directing a film adaptation of Looking for Alaska. I’m a HUGE fan of Sarah’s movies, and her ideas about Looking for Alaska are really wonderful, and I am SO VERY EXCITED.”

Looking for Alaska takes place at a boarding school. The coming-of-age tale follows new student Miles Halter and his prank-obsessed peers; among them is an elusive and reckless girl named Alaska who catches Halter’s imagination.

The project was originally picked up by Paramount in 2005, but languished in development. An adaptation of Green’s novel Paper Towns has also been announced, with Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars) set to star.
