'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' posters roll out through Twitter
Update: Now that voting has ended, the complete set of character posters and the new trailer are below.
Teenage Mutant Turtles decided to use social media to spread the word about itself—with some help from Megan Fox. In a YouTube video released yesterday, Fox encouraged fans to tweet the name of their favorite Ninja Turtle’s name in order to unlock a poster of that turtle for the upcoming summer film.
The Turtles’ posters each feature a full body shot of the turtle in question (an upgrade from the previously released materials, which teased only the weapon hand of each turtle). In a voting pattern that does not match the statistics EW once collected, Donatello lagged behind in earning support, his poster being the last released.
Fox also promised a release of a new trailer for the film once the fourth poster is unlocked; updates on that will be posted on the promotion’s website. Fox stars in the film alongside Will Arnett, and the studio plans to open it on August 8—though maybe if fans tweet about that as much as possible, the date will change.
