Walter Jr. will forgive a lot for the sake of a good breakfast, at least according to the actor who played him.

In a YouTube tribute, Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte outlined all the best qualities of his TV dad, Walter White. Keeping with the Father’s Day theme, he thanked his fictional father for all the good he did for his fictional son (despite the whole, you know, brewing meth, becoming a drug kingpin, and murdering a lot of people thing). “A lot of fathers say they would do anything to provide for their family, but you, Walter White, really meant anything.”

In dad’s defense, Mitte reminds us that Walt’s actions were all for the sake of his children (and his pride and the money). He’s not even jealous of how his dad ignored him and focused on bonding with Jesse Pinkman (okay, maybe a little). The only real resentment comes from having to spend a lot of time playing with Uncle Hank’s boring minerals. If you’re not convinced, you have to agree that Walter Jr. had one advantage: His dad was definitely more interesting than yours. “Most dads tell lame knock-knock jokes, but you were the one who knocks.”

Watch the full video below — and then consider planning a tribute to the murderous meth dealer in your life.
