Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams — also known as “The Queen of Vine” — has mastered the much-harder-than-it-looks art of the six-second viral video (check out her profile). Below, the 17-year-old actress gives four tips for making epics Vines — and we’ve added a few helpful examples:

1. Speak fast: “Speak quickly, but still be understandable. I speak quickly, and some people can’t understand me, so I write what I said in the description box, especially since I have a lot of fans who do not speak English as their first language.”

2. Don’t try to be funny (but be funny): “People say ‘be funny.’ I just find things funny and hope other people find them funny too. If you try to be funny, it’s not. So I just see stuff that makes me laugh and hope it makes other laugh. Sometimes you get it right, like with The Red Wedding one, and sometimes you don’t. And people are like, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ If I find it funny, I’m going to post it.”

3. Background check: “Make sure you know what’s in background — particularly if it’s shot in your home. I had a fridge magnet that said ‘Sh– Happens’ and everybody was like, “Oh my God, look at what’s behind her!'”

4. Make it perfect: “Make sure your editing is really good. If you put music into your Vine and it’s really jumpy, just do it over again. Don’t post anything unless it’s completely perfect. Nobody wants to see a half-finished Vine. I’ve done 20 takes of a Vine before it goes out. Plus, now that I have so many followers, it’s sort of scary. I draft tweets like 20 times. You only have six seconds, you better make it awesome!”
