Great news for Carly Rae Jepsen: She’s no longer responsible for the worst celebrity first pitch ever.

That honor now goes to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, courtesy of Tuesday night’s New York Mets-Pittsburgh Pirates game. Jackson wound up tossing the ball crookedly, to the area between home and first base. As the announcer for one station noted, “It’s good. He never [had to choose] between playing for the Mets and being a rapper.”

A laughing Jackson took it all in stride: While the pitch may not have met his pre-game Twitter promise of “This is gonna be good,” at least he’ll have his 14 Grammy nominations to fall back on.
