After 13 weeks of sickening competition, the final three was simple as A-B-C: Adore Delano, the scrappy ex-American Idol finalist (center); sassy one-liner pro Bianca Del Rio (right); and fishtacular Aussie Idol alum Courtney Act (left).
So which lady’s Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent reigned supreme? America’s Next Drag Superstar is…
Bianca Del Rio!
No live-TV eyelash malfunction could keep down Bianca, who won three challenges and entirely avoided the Lipsync for Your Life elimination round on her way to top honors. In addition to besting Courtney and Adore, Bianca beat out April Carrión, BenDeLaCréme, Darienne Lake, Gia Gunn, Joslyn Fox, Kelly Mantle, Laganja Estranja, Magnolia Crawford, Milk, Trinity K. Bonet, and Vivacious.
“Bianca is my kind of entertainer,” RuPaul said in a statement. “She is totally fearless, bust-a-gut hilarious, and yet she’s still managed to touch the hearts of Drag Race fans around the world.”
Bianca was crowned by last year’s winner Jinkx Monsoon, who spiced up her season 5 mantra while advising her successor to “revel in every single second of it, mind your Ps and Qs, and, when the b—-es come for you, let that bulls— be water off a motherf—in’ duck’s back!”
At the end of the finale, Bianca even received a personalized congratulations from Judge Judy Sheindlin, whom she’d channeled earlier in the season during the Snatch Game challenge.
In response to receiving the $100,000 prize, Bianca responded with her trademark sweet-and-tart sensibility. “I feel like I am the luckiest entertainer in the world right now,” she said. “It’s an incredibly rewarding experience to have this honor, and I’m proof that anything is possible. I extend my love and gratitude to the talented World of Wonder family, Logo TV, the amazing fans, and especially RuPaul. Ru, please remember to tell the IRS that my name is Pablo Sanchez.”
Drag Race fans also awarded the Miss Congeniality title to fifth-place finisher BenDeLaCréme, and Ru officiated a surprise wedding ceremony for No. 6 finalist Joslyn Fox and her fiancé Andre.
