Just one day after tweeting an image of the new Batmobile, Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder has posted a new image from the set of his upcoming Man of Steel sequel/Batman reboot/Justice League pilot/Aquaman sidequel. The photo shows a shadowy image of the new Batman costume, as worn by a human being who appears to be Ben Affleck. I say “appears to be” because the only exposed body part you can really see is the chin — although local Affleck scholar Jeff Labrecque insists that it is definitely Affleck chin:

I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom. #Batman #Batmobile #Gotham

The costume continues the trend of shrinking costume ears that began with Batman Begins. In some respects, though, it’s a bit more old-fashioned than the outfits worn by Christian Bale. Whereas the Nolanized Batman preferred functional kevlar-mesh body armor, this new outfit looks more reminiscent of the skintight-rubber preferred by the Burton films. Also, Affleck appears to have stolen Bane’s biceps.

Snyder still refuses to offer an official title for the movie, but let’s assume that he worded his tweet as a Riddler-esque clue, and the movie’s actual name is Batman vs. Superman vs. the Leica™ Camera M Monochrom.
