Veteran character actor Leslie Carlson has died at the age of 81. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carlson passed away at his home in Toronto on May 3.

Carlson’s many credits included director Bob Clark’s 1974 horror movie Black Christmas and Clark’s 1983 holiday classic A Christmas Story, as well as TV shows The X-Files and Highlander. But the actor will be best remembered by science-fiction fans for his collaborations with director David Cronenberg and particularly his role as sinister eyeglasses company overlord Barry Convex in the filmmaker’s 1983 classic Videodrome.
