The first trailer for Fox’s Gotham is here!

The full two-minute trailer for the Batman prequel series, the most anticipated new show in the running for next season, is below. You’ll get your first close look the Gotham skyline (modern, familiar, yet not too close to any one American city), glimpses of the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents, some action with Det. Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue). There’s moments showing a young Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor, with umbrella!), Catwoman (Camren Bicondova, on gargoyle perch), The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith, looking creepily sly as a Gotham P.D. forensic tech) and Poison Ivy (taking care of a plant, naturally). Plus, let’s not forget, Jada Pinkett Smith as a new character, gangster Fish Mooney.

All and all, Gotham looks just like the gritty, grounded yet still decidedly comic-book-based Batman-esque series that the pilot script by Bruno Heller suggested. As you learn here, the focus of the first episode is Gordon investigating the Wayne murders. “I promise you,” Gordon tells Wayne, “I will find the man who did this.”

Earlier today Fox picked up Gotham for “at least” 13 episodes for next season. First here’s the teaser trailer, which debuts during tonight’s premiere of 24: Live Another Day, and below that is the full two-minute trailer:
